About Us

Beautiful Zion Church was founded by the late Elder Benjamin D. Brown and his mother, the Late Mother Ethel Brown, in the spring of 1975. Beautiful Zion was located on McIntyre Street in West Savannah until 1982, moving to its present location.

In 1999, our Pastor and founder, Elder Brown went home to be with the Lord, Reverend R. A. Whitney Sr. was selected as Pastor by remaining members in February 2000. The first line of Business was paying off the Debt leaving the ministry free of a mortgage. During the ministry reconstruction, both the Spiritual resolve and remodeling and updating the facilities were addressed. A Telephone line was installed adding internet later. A new roof, sanctuary ceiling replaced, walls installation, carpeting and new flooring, central heating and cooling, new seating, adding both a kitchen and office was completed.

To the ministry:  New Members classes are offered. Men’s Prayer and Intercession, the Women’s Dish Conference, the Morning Glory Prayer-line, the annual Financial Conference as well as Children ministries. Along with adding an outreach ministry to the homeless with supplies both local and international. Our annual “Back to School” supplies participation in our metro area. We serve the Summerside area with use of the facility for monthly community meetings and have our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets as needed not only for member but others in the community. To our Media ministry we offered CD’s with  Bible group reading, and book of the year, and now offered BZC on-line membership.
